WELCOME!
The Southeast Wisconsin Carpentry Training Center / Chicago Regional Council Apprentice Training Fund provides the necessary training for enterprising men and women to begin a career in the well paying occupations of carpentry, cabinet making, millwrighting, floor covering, interior systems, and pile driving. This committee is a partnership of unionized building contractors and the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters - Northern Region. This alliance is responsible for both the establishment of the training center and the administration of the various apprenticeship programs according to the state apprenticeship guidelines.
The necessity of apprenticeship is well documented as less than 15% of tradesmen are apprentice trained. Clearly, there is no substitute for on-the-job training received as an apprentice working beside an experienced journeyman.
These trades require proficiency, knowledge and hands-on involvement. In depth classroom instruction from skilled professionals using up to date training materials assures the techniques aid productivity, however, they do not replace the tradesman's seasoned judgment and highly developed craft skills.
The Southeast Wisconsin Carpentry Training Center serves as a single source matrix training, instructing and preparing many of the people who form the core of well paid professionals employed as carpenters, interior systems carpenters, cabinetmakers, floor coverers, millwrights, and pile drivers.
